Join students working to influence the DC government on climate change issues.
The DC Youth Climate Advisory Commission is a climate policy body by youth, for youth. Its purpose is to give high school students a voice in reviewing and recommending climate policies, as well as a forum to discuss concerns about climate change. The DC Youth Climate Advisory Commission will meet twice monthly to draft climate policy resolutions and engage in climate justice initiatives.
In addition, we will explore the opportunity for the DC Youth Climate Advisory Commission to become a formal part of DC City Council legislation. We have seen precedence for this in C40 cities, proving that incorporating youth voices into the legislative process is not only possible, but also necessary to solve major social issues. We will put emphasis on inclusivity, striving to incorporate the voices of youth from across the city.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get more involved in youth-led climate advocacy and have your voice heard.
